Dr. John Nagel, Senior Pastor
The Reverend Dr. John Nagel believes deeply in the ability of the church to do great things for God in the world. As the son of a Methodist Minister, he himself has served for 40 years in the California-Pacific Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was Senior Minister in Ojai, North Hollywood, Westlake Village, and Rancho Bernardo.Pastor Nagel received his undergraduate degree from California Western University in San Diego. This is where he met and fell in love with his equally amazing wife, Barbara. He received his graduate degree from the School of Theology in Claremont, California. Currently, he joyfully serves on staff at Community United Methodist Church of Pacific Palisades in an administrative, programming, worship and outreach capacity.
John and Barbara have two sons and seven wonderful grandchildren.
Rev. Chris Fracchiolla, Associate Pastor
After a wide-ranging and sometimes turbulent spiritual and professional life, Pastor Chris Fracchiolla dedicated his life to Christ and came to Community United Methodist Church in 1999, where he initiated a children’s program. This program has grown to include Vacation Bible School, the Treasure Island and Captain’s Club mid-week programs, and preschool chapel.Pastor Chris formalized his call to ministry in the Methodist Church by beginning classes toward a degree in Theology through Claremont University. He was appointed Associate Pastor of Community United Methodist Church in 2008. He now focuses on Children and Family Ministries, as well as teaching adult Christian education classes. He also coordinates the Church’s Praise Band.
Pastor Chris and his wife Nancy have two children. They all are very active in this community and the public school system, in addition to Church activities and ministries. He believes the most important decision one can make is the life affirming, life-changing choice to trust and follow Jesus Christ. Forgiveness, confidence, joy and peace belong to those who call Him Lord.
