Volunteer
What makes church work? Volunteers. By giving time and skills to serve others … from singing or playing guitars to serving coffee. All of this is done by average people who just happen to be world-changers.
One of the best ways to connect and grow is to serve others. And the best way to do that is to use your God-given talents, interests and skills to impact the community and the world.
Love to sing? Join our Chancel Choir, sing a solo or sing in our Praise Band. Contact or Choir Director, Phil Azelton. Got a gift for guitars or drums or anything else regarding praise & worship? Contact Pastor Chris to get connected with our Praise Band.
Baptism
For 2,000 years, Christians have been baptized to declare to the world that they are believers and followers of Christ. Taking “the plunge” is a significant step in your spiritual journey and we look forward to celebrating it with you.
At Community United Methodist Church, our pastors traditionally baptize by symbolically anointing a person’s head with water, versus submersion. However, if you desire another method, please feel free to discuss this with Pastor John.
Infant Baptism & Dedication
If your child is younger than elementary age, we offer infant baptism or dedication ceremonies. Contact Pastor John or a staff member with questions and to find out available dates of upcoming parent classes and ceremonies.
Child Baptism
Have a child in grades K-5 who wants to be baptized? First, assess his or her spiritual readiness. Second, we’ll ask you and your child to attend a Kids Baptism class in preparation for the event. Contact Pastor Chris with questions and for readiness guidelines and class date and time details.
Membership
Joining Community United Methodist Church is a way of saying that you want to be part of our spiritual family. One delightfully unique aspect of our Church is the fact that there are members from every age group, children to seniors, singles and marrieds, tall people and short people – and everyone else in between.
Joining our Church is not like joining a country club or health club – our goal is not to create an exclusive clique. Instead, membership is a way of saying, “I am on board with Community United Methodist Church’s vision and mission.”
There are two opportunities each year to get started. We offer an informative and interesting membership class for everyone interested in learning more about us and the United Methodist Church as a whole.
Please contact Pastor Chris if you or your child is interested in membership.
